The brief of the project was to create a special piece of furniture for the brand Building Block, a well known emerging brand from Los Angeles, California.
For the concept of this project I started thinking looking at the sorroundings of where the concept store is placed, which will be the spot for the furniture. From here, I started observing all these activities people usually do, and imagine a time and place for them.
Right away I thought of Sunday afternoon.
It’s a time where almost everyone isn’t working, and everybody gathers on the beach on a nice sunny day doing all kinds of activities, like strolling around, biking, skateboarding, rollerblading, and playing with the swings that are placed on the pier. This is what inspired the name and the shape of the piece of furniture that will show in the images below.
