The aim of this project was mainly to strike a reflection, make the visitor think and generate a provocation which can then lead to a purchase.
We started by examining the concept of “Liquid Society” by Zygmunt Bauman, and all its aspects and how it can be linked to a pop up. We started by highlighting the material that best represents people from liquid society’s generation, which is platic. With that in mind we created these big size vacuumed bags, with the products displayed within. The bags were the same, but the the places and the meaning of each of them were different: one was placed in the atrium of the Museum, hanging and symbolising today’s young people’s aspirations; another one was put at the first floor, symbolizing capitalism, and the third one, symbolizing individualism, what thought of as a poster so it could be placed anywhere in the city. They all three represent a trait of today’s liquid society that today we believed were the most relevant to the target of people that interact mostly with the museum and store.
